yhteiskuva VALORin työntekijöistä

Meet our new colleagues Miika Nylén, Samuli Karjalainen and Rasmus Uusipaikka

We have three new colleagues – welcome Miika Nylén, Samuli Karjalainen and Rasmus Uusipaikka.

Miika and Rasmus joined VALOR as interns. Both study at Aalto University, Miika in Finance and Rasmus in Industrial Engineering and Management. Miika also studies Arts at the University of Helsinki.

Prior to joining VALOR, Miika gained experience in banking, executive search and management consulting in large transformation projects. Rasmus has conducted market and competitor analysis in start-ups with a special focus on data analysis, data-driven decision making and data management from a programming perspective.

Samuli has joined our Investment Banking team. Samuli holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science. As an investment banker, Samuli has experience in both cross-border and domestic M&A and capital markets transactions. Samuli has sector experience mainly in consumer goods, retail and circular economy.

Miika and Rasmus, consulting internships are offered by many different companies. Why did you choose VALOR?

Miika: VALOR’s agility and strong positioning in e.g the energy sector intrigued me greatly. I felt that VALOR could offer a unique pathway to rapid personal growth in an interesting context.

Rasmus: At VALOR I was most appealed by the human perspective. People with whom I had had discussions with in various recruiting events had all seemed like very ambitious, keen and nice – ideal co-workers. I also appreciate the strong brand VALOR has and the low internal hierarchy – something that’s familiar to me in other organizations I’ve worked at.

What skills do you think will be useful during your internship?

Miika: In addition to the technical expertise, I believe that soft skills such as efficient communication are crucial for a valuable internship experience.

Rasmus: I am sure my experience in conducting company lists, my background from data driven decision making and my strong grasp of the tools used in consulting will prove to be useful during my internship. I am also used to intensive work culture and solving arising problems quickly and efficiently in my previous positions which I am sure will also be useful.

Samuli, what is the most rewarding part of your job as an investment banker?

Samuli: The most rewarding part of my job by far is seeing the client succeed with the support of our advisory.

What made you join the VALOR team?

Samuli: VALOR’s strong track record, focus on interesting sectors and the VALOR spirit!

VALOR is delighted to have all three join the team – welcome!
